New seats can be added dynamically in the GUI by a list. The definition of max. number of seats during creation is not required anymore. - - The "Base Data data base" (file based im- / export) supports also xls files on Windows Note: the format in xls is strictly given by the application - - The "Base Data data base" (file based im- / export) functionality provides now synchronization in both directions. - Feature "Bumper": - - Only the used pendulums are displayed in the specification tree of V5. Vision Module: - Optical Properties ("Optical Distortion" and "Multiple Reflection"): - - The results can be displayed also by a colored surface. Note: this option requires the V5 material mode - - New capabilities to define the color ranges for the visualization. The default definitions can be defined in Tools - Options. - Display of results can be in "degree" or "Minutes" - selectable by user - - New option to display the Iso curves: "by step". The created iso curves are not depending on the min / max values as they are for the known option "Count" - - Only one refraction index is editable - according the physics - - "Optical Distortion" only: - optional calculation in unit "Dioptry" - - "Multiple Reflection" only: - New option to calculate with ray direction in x direction. - Feature "Mirror": - - The user interface provides now also for the element selection of mirror the multi selection options - - If the contour does not cover the whole instruction field a message is displayed in the tabpage for rotation. The status for fulfilling the standard is not changed by this. - - The rotated contour is now also exported during CAVA export command. - Feature "A-Pillar": - - The front most point of the intersection geometry has been added to the V5 navigation tree. Note: The option "Create Intersection Geometry" must be enabled. - Feature "Close Range Visibility" - - A new option has been added to display the demo cylinder in 2 different colors for the visible and invisible area. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The construction geometry for the EuroNCAP split of the bonnet top can now also be created. Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - For an easier positioning already existing V5 lines can be selected as input for the folding axis and the blade axis. - - The visualization of the axis systems (blade and folding axis) can be updated with new button in the user interface. It is not necessary anymore to do a complete recalculation. - Error fixed: -------------- OVA Module: - Feature "BaseData": - - When loading from DataBase the publication names for the loadings were wrong in some cases. Note: only if the option "publicate internal used CAVA feature" is switched on. - Different Underfloor Feature: - - If the option "Display current Geometry" was selected and some geometry was selected for which the distance / angle could not be calculated (e.g. surface not in a proper position), a infinite surface was created. This caused some visualization problems. - Feature "Wheel Covering": - - In case of using the perpendicular to road algorithm the check has been improved to use also only one side of the vehicle. - - In case of using the perpendicular to road algorithm together with a tolerance, the resulting surface was not parallel to xz plane. - - The tolerance value was not reset to its default when switching between free and standard mode. - Feature "Seating Belts": - - In case of using assembly mode with the BaseData feature in a different part the Name of the seat position was not updated in case of a modification. This happened for segments of the field being smaller than 1m and did not effect the general calculation, but the visualization on the mirror glass. - Feature "3D Direct View": - - In some special cases (when input geometry contains small holes) the calculation hanged up. - - It was not possible to select a cgr input as "selected surface", if the "select cgr" box for the input geometry was enabled at the same time. - Feature "Fields of View": - - On R17 a CATPart containing a Field of View feature was in status "non up to date" after opening the document. - Feature "Close Range Visibility" - - In case of using the option "Position by BaseData parameter" it was still necessary to select at least one element for the car geometry to start the calculation. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The Bonnet Split curves for the EuroNCAP standard are calculated only by using the "main" WAD curves for each of the 2 areas. Before the lines used also a WAD curve in between the 2 "main" WADs. - - In case of several intersection points between the WAD and the Bonnet Side Curve, the forward most intersection point is used for the splitting of the EuroNCAP Bonnet Top area. Note: this situation does only occur for very specific geometry. - - In case of EuroNCAP the splitting of the front WAD curve has be improved. If the forward most point of the WAD curve is more forward than the intersection between Bonnet Leading Edge and Bonnet Side curve, the points from the "rearmost" X-plane of the WAD are projected in X direction. - - Improved measurement between 2 curves in case that the limit curves for the Bonnet Top may be switched depending on their distance. - - If the selected bumper geometry was containing different surfaces, the "Corner of Bumper" point on the right vehicle side was wrongly placed (only in specific cases). - - Added missing offset curve for Bonnet Rear curve in Japan standard Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - On Aix platform the Cancel button of the 2D Viewer GUI and the file selection box for the report did not work. Modifications in 1.8.4: ======================= - Error fixed: -------------- Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - In case of gently inclined windshield surfaces some points of the blade could not be projected onto the windshield. This lead to a wiper range not using the full surface. - - In some special cases the percentage of the FOV covering resulted in 0%, even if the wiped area was overlaping with the FOV surface. - - The demo wiper was not moved to the current position of the max/min result values on "move" button. Note: by pressing Apply it was working already before Modifications in 1.8.3: ======================= Modifications for configuration files: -------------------------------------- OVA Module: - New keyword for rear loading for different features - keyword added to description (not used). Happens e.g. for Head Position Contour, Vision Points etc. - The Base Data XML ex-/import command was not available in the "insert" menu. OVA Module: - Feature "Base Data": - - If the loadings geometry was depending on some parameters defined in a different part, the geometry was not updated when the V5 update call was performed on the whole product. Note: Happens for example when the overhang value was linked to an external parameter. The feature using this parameters were updated properly, only the geometry representing the road plane was not. This did not appear, when the update was performed on the single Part. - Feature "Seating Belt": - - The feature was not working in the assembly context when the linked Base Data feature was located in a different CATPart. - Feature "Child Protection": - - The feature was not working in the assembly context when the linked Base Data feature was located in a different CATPart. - - After changing the passenger / seat in the GUI of the feature the specification tree (extension with seat name) was not updated directly. Note: the update was done after collapsing and expanding the parent tree icon. This happens when the road plane was not parallel to the z-plane. - - In some cases it might happen to get small loops in the boundary of the invisible area. These are reduced now. - - In some cases there have been empty items in the specification tree. - Feature "Optical Distortion" and "Multiple Reflection" - - In some special cases the status icon in the specification tree was not updated properly. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The calculation of the split of the bonnet top has been improved. Before in some cases the result was not symmetric. - - In some cases the "Bonnet Rear Curve" was not calculated even if the distance between the windshield and the frontal upper surface was close enough. Note: this happened, when the lowest point of the windshield surface was more far away from the frontal upper surface than the sphere radius. - - If the "cutting step" parameter has been changed in free mode, the section planes were not updated automatically. The offset curve can be calculated by 3 types of algorithm: 1. by the "Wrap around" distance -> used for EU 2. by the "Effective direction" -> used for Japan 3. by the "Axis Direction" -> used for Japan Side curves See modifications in Configuration file above. - - A new selection list has been added "General Elements". These surfaces / cgrs are used for all the different selection lists of the front car (except "windshield" and "bonnet rear extra elements"). Due to that change, there is no need to select the same surface several times, except it is intended for some reasons (performance / specific check for one curve). - Feature "Head Impact": - - The error messages in case of internal problems have been improved. - Error fixed: -------------- General: - The handling of CGR data has been improved / fixed. In cases, where the CGR contains symmetric or translated triangles, these transformation were not used properly in all cases before. In some cases, the usage of CGR data lead to a crash of the system due to a different number of vertices and normals stored in the CGR. This problem is handled now in a proper way. Effects all feature working with CGR data. Manikin Module: - Feature "Manikin Template": - - If a Manikin template was created in a different CATPart as the linked BaseData feature, the SRP coordinates in the GUI were set to 0.0, 0.0, 0.0. The calculation / positioning was ok already before. Vision Module: - Feature "Mirror": - - In some very special cases, the visualization / orientation of the displayed field of view curve for the truck "Front mirror" field was wrong (orientation flipped). Note: this error was obvious to the user. - Feature "Fields of View": - - When once a US / CDN standard was used and afterwards the same feature was switched back to a European standard, the user got always the message "Do you want to reset standard data" when opening the feature. Note: this behavior was due to the thresholds for the width, which were not used in Europe. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - Improved handling of CGR data, see notes above ("General fixes") - - Corrected calculation of the Offset curves. Before in some cases, the offset curve was not exactly at the proper position. - - Improvements in some algorithms to calculate the curves. Before it might happen, that some points of the curve have not been calculated. - - The "Corner of Bumper" geometry was not deleted, when the checkbox was switched off. - Feature "Head Impact": - - Error fixed in the GUI: the "Side Rail" was enabled even, if the "Upper Roof" calculation failed. Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - The GUI label for wiping direction has been corrected (mix of left / right) Modifications in 1.6.3: ======================= Note: the version 1.6.3 contains only specfic enhancement for Wiper functionality (requested by Porsche) - General enhancement in feature: --------------------------------- Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - improved visualization options to display: - Curvature of the blade - Sag value of the blade as colored points in the 3D. The default values can be defined in "Tools - Options" - - The orientation of the curvature is also used to display the results. - Error fixed: -------------- Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - In case of invalid wiper definition (in terms of kinematic, especially for trapezoid wiper) the system was crashing in the old release. - - The color definition for the normal deviation through the combo boxes in GUI was not properly working, when changing data between Unix and Windows plattform. Note: the fix could lead to a loss of the given color definition in existing feature (created with CAVA 1.5 / 1.6. Modifications in 1.6.2: ======================= Modifications for configuration files: -------------------------------------- OVA Module: - UFSlopeAngle.xml: - - Standard "USA / AUS Off-Road" has been removed - - new standards "US Off-Road" and "AUS Off-Road" with proper loadings - UFInnerAngle.xml: - - new standard "Australia Off-Road" - - Standard "Australia" is using loading "Empty weight ML1" for Off-Road BaseData - UFSpaceToRoad.xml: - - Standard "US Off-Road" changed to 203.2mm for offset value (before 200mm) - - New standard "Australia Off-Road" - - Standard "US Off-Road" and "EU Off-Road" use now also the Offroad parameters as default values - General enhancement: ---------------------- - Support of unix plattform "Sun". - The Export Command has been improved: - - It is using the visual properties of the CAVA geometry for the new generated elements. - - The confusing and non used checkbox "Navigate only" has been removed. - Some error messages have been improved, e.g. in case that an external reference can not be created. - General enhancement in feature: --------------------------------- OVA Module: - Feature "Base Data": - - New "Default Loading" which is always parallel to xyz. Replaces the old default loading "No Loading" which causes some misunderstandings in the past. Existing feature will keep the old functionality. The new loading is available for newly created Base Data feature. The new loading can be used in CAVA feature in free mode or referenced in Customer standards (keyword "Vehicle grid parallel"). Vision Module: - Feature "Mirror": - - The automatic calculation during the active command is suppressed: - during actions on the list of covering elements - changing surface type In these cases the calculation is done on "Apply". - Error fixed: -------------- OVA Module: - Feature "Slope Angle", "Ground Clearance" and "Inner Angle" - - For Off-Road vehicles in some cases the wrong loading plane was used for Australia / US standards. See modifications in configuration files above for more details. - Feature "Ground Clearance": - - In certain cases on Unix plattform a change of the standard did not lead to a removal of the non used geoemtry. E.g. the general surface was still present, even if the newly selected standard is not using it. - Feature "Wheel covering": - - The option to use "cgr" data as input is not working at all (planned for future release). For the 1.6.2 the cgr checkbox has been removed in GUI. Manikin Module: - Feature "Manikin Template": - - The parameters (angles, lengths) which provide input and output functionality depending on the position were always set to the input value when the feature was edited (user interface and specification tree). E.g. in "Position 6 (Fonds)" the knee angle is an output parameter. After pressing "apply" the proper value was visible in the GUI. When the feature was closed and reopened afterwards a (internal) non correct value was assigned in GUI. Note: The geometry was in correct position. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The split of the Bonnet Top for the EuroNCAP has been improved. Modifications in 1.6.1: ======================= Modifications for configuration files: -------------------------------------- Vision Module: - New Configuration File "ERFiledsOfView.xml" for the new CAVA feature Extended / Reduced Fields of View. Safety Module: - PedestrianProtection.xml: - For the Upper Bumper Curve the use_upper_end keyword is set to true. In case that there is not tangent point with the reference line (700mm long) the highest contact point is used. This has an effect only for cars with a "high" positioned front end like bigger SUVs. - The wrap around distance for the WAD curve 2 has been changed to 1500mm (before 1700mm) for standard "EU (ACEA) Phase 2 (DRAFT)". - An offset value of 82.5mm has been added to the rear limit of the bonnet top for EU and Japan standard. - General enhancement: ---------------------- - The CAVA Workbench contains now also the Part-Update Command. - The Vision License is now optional available as 2 sub licenses: Mirror and View. - General enhancement in feature: --------------------------------- General: - New GUI in Tools - Options to define feature specific default values. Before the info was retrieved from the BaseData feature. Now in the BaseData feature the default value is set. Vision Module: - New Feature "Extended / Reduced Fields of View". - Feature "Fields of View": - - The daylight opening curve can now consist of 2 curves, own at each side of the windshield. If this option is used, the offset value is taken into account only along the curves and not along the upper / lower boundary of the shield. - Feature "A-Pillar Covering": - - Additional visualization elements are created in case "create intersection geometry". - lines from P-Points to E-Points in Z of P-Points - Parallel lines in S1 to easier check of the results. - Feature "Mirror": - - The instruction field can now also be defined by "target points". This is currently not yet used, but a preparation for the planned check of the new EG field on a perpendicular plane. The ongoing depends on the German TÜV. - Feature "Direct View": - - The feature allows now also the selection of several window surfaces. - Feature "Optical Distortion" and "Multiple Reflection" - - The GUI has been improved for a better handling of the Fields of View Reference Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - Color definition for visualization of the normal deviation has been improved. The Default definition is done in the Tools - Options - CAVA section. - - A 2D - Viewer has been added to display the results of output parameters. New calculations have been added: - Folding extremes: depending on wiper angle (steps) - Normal deviation for a certain tracecurve (hor / vert) - curvature of blade (radius): depending on trace curve (hor / vert ) - curvature of blade (curvature 1 / radius) - Curvature (radius) along a horizontal trace curve - Curvature (1/radius) along a horizontal trace curve - Derivation of curvature of blade - Derivation of Normal deviation for a certain trace curve (hor / vert) - 'SAG' value of Blade Results can also be exported into report files. - - The current percentage Values are now visible also in the specification tree. - - The representation of the result points is using a "bigger" point symbol. - - The calculation step to retrieve the maximum and minimum angle has been improved. - Error fixed: -------------- General: - The Visualization of texts (in Eye point feature) and results of Optical Properties was not visible, if the CATSetting for Anti-aliasing was set. - Depending on the last save action, a Cancel in the Category selection GUI of the BaseData feature could lead to a V5 cancel of the last action. Also for the "About CAVA" and the "Export" GUI. - For some geometry, e.g. Vision Refenrence Points, linked V5 Measurements / Geometries have not been updated after a modification of the CAVA geometry. - The position matrix of a CGR file was not used for calculation. The CGR data have been used at their original position. - V5 elements selected by the "search by name" functionality (available for CAVA feature with list of elements as input) were not created as external reference, even when the V5 settings require this behaviour. OVA Module: - Feature "Slope Angle" and other Underfloor feature: - - The calculation of the current angles has been improved for the case that the loading plane differs from a z-plane. If the difference to the z-plane is big (usually not the case) the angle was not very accurate. - - The used color for the Wire elements was not for all feature according to the default settings in Tools - Options. - Feature "Wheel Covering": - - In case of bigger delta Z values of the rear wheel, the offset line created at 150mm was incorrect placed. - - The possible Y-shift of the wheel (not widely used) was not taken into account to position the required surface. - Feature "Lamp Position": - - The appearance in the specification tree has been improved. Before side lamps were not displayed in the tree at all. - Feature "Bumpers": - - In case that the feature was created with the Loading "No Loading" and reopens later on, by pressing "Yes" for the request to reset the standards, the text in the loading combo box was not updated. (the calculation was ok). Manikin Module: - Feature "Head Position Contour": - - If there was an intersection with the roof geometry, the diagonal clearance result was positive. - Feature "Eye points": - - If the option "Display texts" is activated, a modification of the position (by changing SRP) did not update the text position. Vision Module: - Feature "Mirror": - - The calculation has been improved for covering elements which are on both sides of the mirror surface. Before this situation lead to the fact that the element was not taken into account. - - It was not possible to create the covering elements on the mirror as geometry. - - In case that the whole Instruction field was invisible and the option "visualize the visible area as surface" the shown area (surface) was obviously wrong (happens in special cases, was obvious for user). Safety Module: - Feature "Head Impact": - - In special cases, the Point "Pt1" point was not lying on the exterior surface. - - Sliding Door Target: "Plane 29" was in some cases not positioned exactly in the mid of the widest opening of the sliding door. - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - In the old version a defined Offset value for the rear bonnet curve had no effect. - - The internal calculation has been improved to get symmetric results for a symmetric Part. - - The Bonnet Top offset curves are calculated along the surface. - - The intermediate planes for the offset calculations are always net parallel. Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - in some cases the output geometry / parameters were not updated (no geometry was created / parameter were in status "unset"). - - The violated Icon in the Specification tree appeared also if no Field of View was selected. The status OK / NOK can only be calculated if a FOV feature / surface is selected. Update is now done in a proper way. Modifications in 1.5.3: ======================= Modifications for configuration files: -------------------------------------- OVA Module: - Customer/UFDynamicCurb.xml: - Example standard "Company intern VW style" is now using calculation tangent_parallel - SeatingBelts.xml: - For the standard "USA FMVSS 210" now the loading "Empty weight USA/CDN" is used. Safety Module: - HeadImpact.xml: - New keyword MeasurementMethod and MaxMeasurementDeviation. Used for A-Pillar points. - General enhancement: ---------------------- - The CAVA commands are now available also in the Insert menu of V5, if the CAVA workbench is active. - General enhancement in feature: --------------------------------- OVA Module: - Feature "Dynamic Curb": - - A new calculation method has been added to meet VW requirement. The distance for the tangents is measured towards a parallel line on the opposite wheel instead of measuring it to the road. - Feature "Free Space": - - The feature accepts now also vertex points as input elements for the positioning. Manikin Module: - Feature "Manikin Template": - - In case of changes of the percentile or the seat the edited input values (e.g. legroom) are no longer set back to the default values. Note: a change of the standard or positioning will still lead to use the default values. - Feature "Head Position Contour": - - The feature now offers also to visualize the measured distances similar to OVA underfloor. - - The feature is not recalculated automatically when it is opened by the user. Before it was recalculated at the edition of the feature, which lead to an uncomfortable usage. Vision Module: - Feature "Field of View": - - The calculation takes place on "Apply" or on "Ok". Before it was started already when changing something in the GUI (create A- / B-field), which leads to uncomfortable user interaction. Note: in case of choosing a different standard, still the calculation takes directly place. - Feature "Direct View": - - A new option has been added to display also the required angles by some rays. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The old progress bar for each single curve has been removed. From now on there is only one interruptible progress bar for this feature. - - In case that the wrap around distances are out of range of the selected geometry, the user will get a proper error message about that. - - The corner of bumper is now calculated with more accuracy in an analytical way. - - In case of gaps between the input surfaces, the calculation has been improved to get the proper results. This mainly effects the offset curve generation. - Feature "Head Impact": - - The distance for calculation of A-Pillar target point PT1 can now be handled also by the "wrap around"-distance. Before it was always the distance on the surface. Which calculation method is used, is defined in the configuration file. Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - If the "Field of View" reference is selected, the corresponding windshield is automatically used. The selection of the surface is not longer required. - Error fixed: -------------- General: - "Search By Name": The search failed, as long as the combo-Box for the element types was not used by the user. Happen due to inproper initial state. OVA Module: - Feature "Base Data": - - The information left / right driven vehicle was not update on "Apply" in GUI. On "Ok" and calculation was already working before. - Feature "Slope Angle": - - In some cases the current angle was the complementary angle (instead of 16deg, the result was 344deg). - Feature "Dynamic Curb": - - The used algorithm (tangent / parallel) was not properly checked when switching between free and non free mode. When in free mode, the algorithm was changed and afterwards the free mode was set back, the values have been set back to the standard, but not the algorithm. - Feature "Underfloor Complete": - - During Update mechanism the wireframe geometry is handled properly, but the surfacic representation was not build according to it. - - For specific combination of used "sub-standards" the calculation was leading to a abort of Catia. - - The check whether all referenced standards and loadings are defined and the corresponding error message has been improved. - Feature "Bumper": - - There was no warning message, if a non activated loading was used. - Feature "Lamp Position": - - The specification tree was not always up to date, when the user switches between front / rear position. Note: The geometry was created properly. - Feature "Wheel Covering": - - In case of "Off-Roader"-Calculation for rear wheel, in some cases the check, whether the geometry is covered or not, was not working properly. - - The update of the icons (violated / non violated) was sometimes not proper. This happened, when the geometry for front / rear was removed or the position was changed. Manikin Module: - Feature "Manikin Template": - - If the positioning was modified, not all the parameters were updated properly in the specification tree. Note: calculation was correct. - - When using the positioning number 4, the opening of the feature GUI, lead always to the question "Do you want to reset standard data?". - Feature "Eye points": - - If the BaseData is located in a different CATPart in assembly context, the eye point feature did not use the proper SgRP. Note: for other feature as "Eye Ellipses", "Manikin" or "Head Position Contour" this was working already before. Vision Module: - Feature "Mirror": - - The spherical shift to position a convex mirror also in a non symmetric way was not working when rotating the mirror interactively. Note: usually not used for passenger cars. - - Surfaces with too less "tessellation points" lead to wrong results in the calculation of covering, e.g. a quadratic "Fill surface". - - If a standard was used, which defines the instruction field on a perpendicular wall and additional the visualization flag was set to display the results on a perpendicular wall, 2 different planes were used. Now, the visualization flag is ignored for standards using already the wall. - - If in Product context, not all components were loaded properly, it might happen, that the system crashes during selection of the rotation point. - - In case of truck mirror (front mirror) the circle segment to define the instruction field was oriented in the wrong way in case of right driven car (for left driven it was ok). Note: this kind of definition of the instruction field is not used for passenger cars. - Feature "Vision Planes": - - The new angle parameter for the mid plane was not available in the specification tree. - Feature "Field of View": - - If there is no intersection between the 4 planes and the selected windshield geometry at all, there was no output calculated. Now, even in that case, the fields are created. - Feature "Optical Properties": - - In case of refraction index equal 1.0, numerical problems could lead to some inproper results. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - On change of the used loading in the base data feature, the pedestrian protection feature was not updated automatically. - Feature "Head Impact": - - Calculation of target points has been improved / fixed. -> Target points of "other pillars" were using always the same geometry selection. -> Front Header caused a program abort in some cases due to topological operator. -> Rear Header was not working properly in all cases. -> Upper Roof leads for some input geometry to wrong measurements between the edges (0mm). -> Roll Bar targets were not created in all geometrical cases before. -> Side Rail points SR1 and SR2 were always created at the same location. -> B-Pillar points use now the CG of the closest front seat. -> Update of CG points, when the loading plane has been changed. - - Dependency on alternative selected points has been fixed. -> Side Rail and other Rail points -> B-Pillar target point was placed at wrong location, when an alternative point was selected. - - Visualization according to the CAVA settings. - - GUI improvements for selection wizzard. E.g. new texts has been added. - - Update of the V5 specification tree in case of modifications. - - If the user unselect the checkbox to create the construction geometry, not all geometry was removed properly from the Part. Wiper Module: - Feature "Wiper": - - In case of "number of points" less than 2, the usage leads to a crash of Catia. - - In case of German environment ("," instead of "."), the percentage values were not read properly. Modifications in 1.5.2: ======================= Modifications for configuration files: -------------------------------------- Manikin Module: - EyeEllipses.xml: - New standard "SAE J941 (1997)" has been added. - VisionPlanes.xml: - New keyword added for new functionality (1 deg plane) - General enhancement: ---------------------- - The license check boxes in Tools - Options can now be switched off even without a valid license. - On Aix Plattform linked with LUM.4.6.8 Libraries. By doing so, the interactive split of the complete windshield surface into the surface representing the clear part is no longer required, but handled by CAVA. - Error fixed: -------------- General: - Some values in the configuration files were read as integer value instead of real in the German environment. Note: On unix most customer are using the EN environment. This problem occured for the coefficients in eye ellipses (2002) and head position contour (2002). The data including a dimension (mm / m / deg) were not effected. - If a single license for the "Safety" Module is available, the feature "BaseData" can also be created / modified. - If a loading with Alias name (defined in the TCACAVALoadings.CATNls file, new option with 1.5.1 to use GCIE names) is used by a feature, but not activated, the error message was displaying the default name for the loading instead of the alias. Note: this effected only the message, not the data. - The DLName definition of the CAVA configuration directory was not working when the directory pointed by the DLName contained environment variables. Now this can be defined with environment variables, e.g. ${V5_3DParty}/CAVA/Configuration. Syntax must be ${env_var} or $(env_var). OVA Module: - Feature "Base Data": - - If a existing loading plane was deactivated, the geometry stayed in the 3D. - Feature "Seating Belts": - - The link to the default torso angle of base data feature was not working. The link has been added in case of ECE standard. In case of US standard, the torso angle can be changed by user anyway. - - The bitmaps in the "Detailed" User Interface have been improved. - - There was no check before, wether the loading plane is according to the standard. Happens for example when using "No Loading" and afterwards activate the proper one in base data. - Feature "Wheel Covering": - - If the user specified a delta value for wheel camber or toe in/out for the used loading plane (in "Detail" GUI of a loading) the values were not interpreted. This error is fixed now for newly created wheel covering feature. Happens for example when using free mode with different loading and afterwards set to non free mode. - - The icons assigning "Ok" / "NOk" were not updated in all cases, especially, when the roof geometry was intersected. - Feature "Manikin": - - The torso shape differed slightly (0.3mm) from the length of the torso line, due its representation. - - When in free mode the body masses were modified, they were not stored in the CATPart. With next edit of the feature the data were lost. - - The clash detection with interiour geometry is now working also with closed surfaces and the iteration for positioning "Fonds" has been improved. - - The value of the Torso angle was not updated in the specification tree (calculation and GUI was ok). - - If an update of the Manikin was caused due to a modification of linked input geometry and another CATPart was the active one (not containing the Manikin feature), the update failed with message "Manikin underconstrained". Note: This bug occured only in 1.5.1. Vision Module: - Feature "Mirror": - - If the mirror is adjusted into a extreme position that way, that the resulting field on the road is intersecting the internal sideward limits (for numerical reasons), the resulting field of view was oriented in a wrong way (connected in negative X). This error is fixed now. - - If the option "Show visible area as surface on" was set to All, all selected elements were used to create this surface, even when they should not be used for covering calculation (depending on the settings for each element in the element list). - Feature "Direct View": - - The Status string ("OK" / "Failed") in the list of points was not updated in all cases. - - In some cases (Free mode with Azimuth angle >45 deg) the sight lines were not created. - Feature "Optical Properties": - - The calculated values for the Field of View surfaces in minutes was not updated properly. Safety Module: - Feature "Head Impact": - - If the target point APR was defined by the user (alternative point), the update of the interiour roof targets was not working. - - In some cases, depending on the normal direction of the exteriour roof surfaces, the target point AP1 was not calculated. - - On HP.11i the selection of surfaces was impossible in the common GUI, when the list was empty. Note: The selection with wizzard was already ok. - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - The intersection algorithm is now working also with closed surfaces. In case of field on road the angle of 20 deg is used for the sideward limitations. - - Covering calculation based on surfaces / CGRs has been improved. Before in some cases the contour of the surfaces was calculated in a wrong way. - - In case of non planar curves for the contour definition, the distance to the rotation point and the default angles were sometimes wrong. Contour is now checked to be planar. - - In case of the US standard and inside mirror, the distance between the rear point of the car and the field was in some cases not equal 61m (depending on base data for overhang and wheel center). - - The crash on HP 11.i when rotating the mirror has been fixed. - - When using free mode and changing the instruction field manually the system could crash. - Feature "Fields of View": - - If the free mode was activated the angles for the intersection planes were changed automatically for European standards. There is a list with several lines of values for the different car width in US standards. When changing to free mode the wrong index from this list was used. - Feature "Optical distortion" and "Multiple refraction": - - The required angle was read in wrong way in German environment due to a V5 internal problem. - - The required angle was editable when editing the feature (opening of an existing feature) - - The result is not longer dependant on the order of selection (main / second) surface. Safety Module: - Feature "Pedestrian Protection": - - In case that the wrap around curve is defined as rear limit for the Bonnet Top, but is "out of range" due to a short wrap around distance of the rear side of the engine hood, the rear Bonnet Curve is taken as limit.
